Sew Whimsey Quilt Show Information
Categories and Definitions: Please choose the category you feel best describes your entry. (We reserve the right to adjust the category.)
Art Quilt – to be used as art
First Time Exhibitor – one year or less experience
Mixed Technique – equal amounts of two or more techniques
Modern – modern quilts are primarily functional inspired by modern design
Traditional Applique – prominently appliqued; hand or fused
Machine Applique
Traditional Pieced – blocks or patterns
Youth – 12 or under
Challenge – group entry
General Quilt Show Rules
Online entry form deadline Tuesday, September 10, 2024.
Entry fee for quilts to be judged $15 (to be paid at time of drop off); no fee for those not to be judged.
When entering a quilt, you commit to volunteer for a 2-hour shift at the quilt show.
All quilts 30” or wider must have a 4” sleeve attached. Each quilt should have an identifying label on the back and the Registration Label (print when registering online) attached.
IMPORTANT DATES: PLEASE READ AS THESE DATES WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.
Drop off:  Quilts will be accepted at Quilts and Things, 16985 Monterey Road, Suite #316, Morgan Hill on Monday, September 16, and Friday, September 20, from 4:00 to 6:00pm ONLY. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Each quilt must be in an individual clear plastic bag with the Entry Form visible. No pillow cases, opaque bags or boxes.
Please do not leave the shop without your receipt. You will need it to pick up your quilt.
Pick up: After the show, quilts are to be picked up at the United Methodist Church, 17175 Monterey Road, Morgan Hill on Sunday, September 29, between 4:00 and 5:00pm.
Please wait outside. Quilts will be returned alphabetically. You will be called to the door in alphabetic order to pick up your quilt(s). You must have your receipt.
If you cannot pick up your quilt(s), you can have someone pick them up for you. They must have the receipt(s) indicating permission to release the quilt(s) to you. Quilts not picked up by 5:00pm on Sunday, September 29 will be charged $25 late fee per day.
Piece by Piece Quilters of Morgan Hill and the United Methodist Church assume no liability for the entries.
Volunteers are needed for the Sew Whimsey Quilt Show. Sign up sheets to work a 2-hour shift will be available at quilt drop off. Please be sure to sign up to work a shift. Your quilt(s) and your time will help make our show successful. Thank you.
